(2018/08/10) A friend of a friend got spammed by a guy called "Blue Triangle 38." That is exact the same letter as listed in this Washington Post article. It amazed me that because the spammer is not shooting a shotgun. It target on people who lives in high-income neighborhood. 21 Century criminal also need to learn some Big Data. If you got a letter like this, what is your response?

"These scammers tend to target higher-income communities — including some in the Washington and Northern Virginia area, said Andrew Ames, a spokesman in the FBI’s Washington Field Office."

Here is a video news on this scamming.

The Problem of Over Supply

(2018/07/21) For many, it's hard to imagine that business rather burning their over-production items than selling those at its salvage value. But for some firms, burning inventory is the best way to avoid "brand devaluation."

"Burberry, the upmarket British fashion label, destroyed unsold clothes, accessories and perfume worth £28.6m last year to protect its brand."

Resume Data Visualization -- Self Experiment

(06/13/2018) Many people try to make their resumes stand out from all applicants. How can we do it? If you want to demonstrate your skills in data visualization, maybe you can try to use Tableau Public to build your resume, put it on the Internet and show the interactivity of Tableau's dashboard.

Below is an example of simple online resume that highlights my career development. You can scan the mouse through the screen (the actual online resume is bigger than the embedded screen size, so you can scroll to the right to see more) and more detailed information will pop up.

The resume above is following this Youtube video instruction. Thanks for her contribution!

A touching story -- Illegal Miners and Loggers in the Amazon.

(2018/04/29) It is a very touching story about illegal miners and loggers in the Amazon. His words: "Conservation is a bourgeois concept. ... We create a huge more carbon than these guys, ... but we expect the poor people with nothing to look after our carbon things for us. But they can't because they have not got anything."

It made me rethink about the bad guys who destroy our planets. Who forced them to do so?

Here is part 2.

Own a Porsche Like You Rent It?

(2018/03/28) Now you can own a Porsche like you rent it. It's just not cheap. But a smart idea, right? Once you experience that power and speed, you will have a crave.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/28/subscription-service-helps-porsche-attract-younger-drivers.html

This is how it works (Porsche Passport):

"Porsche Passport, which provides subscribers with access to Porsche vehicles via a mobile app, is currently only available in Atlanta, home to Porsche's North American operation, as well as Clutch Technologies, the company hosting the app.

The month-to-month subscription gives customers two price options: A flat fee of $2,000 or $3,000. The subscription includes a $500 activation fee and credit check, and covers vehicle tax and registration, insurance, unlimited mileage and maintenance. Smartphone users can download the app and begin using the same day or schedule future rides. "

Technical Analysis on Bitcoin

(2018/03/28)

In Finance area, different moving averages are often used in technical analysis. This is a interesting example about Bitcoin:

"A death cross is a term used to describe a cross-over of the 50-day moving average and the longer-term 200-day moving average. More specifically, it's used to illustrate when the 50-day moving average moves below the 200-day moving average, technicians often look at this pattern as a bearish sign of what's to come"
